Capricorn’s glyph is the mysterious Sea Goat - a mythical creature existing in both water and land. Although Capricorn is a deeply rooted earth sign, this mythological symbolism that connects also with sea, with water, implies connection to the emotional and imaginal realms. Imagination made real on the physical plane - creating reality.
Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, a planet of structure, anchoring our physicality reality. Saturn expresses in the tangible - see, taste, touch. Much of our existence is non-physical and exists in the spirit and soul of inspiration. Capricorn can guide these creative impulses into real life. It’s cardinality as a cardinal earth sign initiates projects and sees them through with a strong ability to persevere.
Capricorns are known to be stable, hardworking, and achievement oriented in their ability to see things through to the end. Capricorn as an earth sign creates reality by bringing the non physical concepts, ideas, visions, and imagination into the physical reality.
There is something deeply sacred about our physical experience, and Capricorn reminds us of that. Our time here matters - this physical reality is a divine gift from the great mystery of life.
**Note - sun sign placement is impacted by other placements in the chart. If Capricorn is your sun sign, your rising sign, and other planetary alignments will impact how this expresses in your chart.
