Aquarius (fixed air)
Although Aquarius' glyph is the water-bearer, this archetype is actually an air sign. The glyph depicts a person pouring from the vessel, likely water, which is a base component for sustaining life. Despite the water imagery, Aquarius is firmly an air sign, and air signs excel at concept, idea, knowledge, and information. After all, idea is the first step to manifestation. Everything first exists in the mind.
The fixedy in this fixed air sign describes the internal nature: idea, information, knowledge and concept. There’s a sense that knowledge is generated in the vessel before its poured forth. Perhaps knowledge-bearer is a more apt description for this sign.
Aquarians have a deep sense of the collective and embody an innovative quality that seeks to enhance the social good, benefiting the whole. Ruled traditionally by Saturn, a planet known for structure and manifesting into physical reality, there’s a Saturnian quality of wisdom integrated into Aquarius. Wisdom seeks good methodology as motivation for sustainability. The modern ruler, Uranus, provides Aquarius with an intuitive, fresh, and unique perspective to innovation. Together with wisdom and innovation, the independent nature of Aquarian energy can dream a new dream for all.
Aquarius reminds us to connect to our sense of curiosity. In the collective field of awakening and intellectual advancement, creativity can be found through provoking new thoughts and ideas, innate to the human experience. The seeds of creation begin with ideas.
**Note - sun sign placement is impacted by other placements in the chart. If Aquarius is your sun sign, your rising sign, and other planetary alignments will impact how this expresses in your chart.
