June 21 - July 22

Cancer the crab.  This glyph conveys imagery of a being that likes the comfort of their shell, carrying their home wherever they go. The shell also indicates that protective nature that Cancer energy exhibits, and serves as an invisibility cloak. There’s a sensitivity to water signs, and a shell allows Cancers to safely engage with those they love and protect.

Cancer is a cardinal water sign, cardinal = initiating, water = imaginative and emotional realms. Initiating emotion comes naturally to Cancer, empathy in a world where emotion isn’t necessarily valued currency. Protective and deep feelingness often develops emotional intelligence, we see this energy represented in our allies out there standing up for the underdog, highly aware of another’s plight. Advocates and cheerleaders, Cancer cares. Our cultures benefits from the representation of nurturing to balance the rigors of life.

The path for Cancer inevitably leads to mastering emotional balance and harmony. Ruled by the moon, there’s an interiority to Cancer that seeks emotional nourishment with the understanding that we are all vessels for the energy that passes through - some more sensitive than others. The moon feels, and learning to connect with our feeling nature is important work for nourishing the soul!

Cancer reminds us to remember our soul’s wants and needs. Pay attention to emotion, pay attention to imagination, these carry the information of our intuition the most valuable guidance on our path.
